Our Instructors All of our instructors at The Naughty Dogge, have been competing and showing animals for at least fifteen years, with a total time of 40 years. Monique Anstee Click Here for Resume (Word Document)
Monique has trained 14 different breeds to basic and advanced competition titles. To date, she has put over 55 working titles on her dogs, with multiple High in Trials, and National top-ten group placements on almost every dog. She is well known in obedience circles for her success with "non-obedience" breeds. But most of Monique's dog also had issues such as dog aggression, and have been trained through it, and still had successful obedience careers. All of her dogs work with a wagging tail and mischievous spark in their eyes! Monique has been fortunate to bump into some of the best dog-trainers along her way. She learned almost all that she knows from Jackie Hastie in Calgary, Kathie Stoner in Calgary, Sylvia Bishop who lives in England, Dee Dee Rose from Kansas, and AnnMarie Silverton in California. Without them, she might still be using choke-chains. Monique also has formal training. She studied behavioural psychology at the University of Victoria and graduated from the University of Calgary with her undergraduate degree. Monique has worked for several school boards, helping children with problem behaviours. It is this expertise and training that she brings now to dogs. And after nineteen years of working with problem dogs and children, Monique really does understand behaviour and how to change it.
Suzanne Wilson Suzanne was genetically programmed to train animals. At age three, she was already riding horses, and continued on to age eight, when her formal training began. Suzanne travelled the world to learn under the best teachers and to compete in three day eventing on her horses (which includes dressage, jumping, and cross-country). Suzanne was two years away from representing Canada in the Olympics when she had to drop out of horses due to a tragedy in her life. This ended up being a blessing for dogs; Suzanne put all of her passion and talent into them instead. She has trained miracles with her current dog, Indi, who used to be extremely aggressive to both people and other dogs, and is now a confident marshmallow in her hands. She is currently training him in competition obedience and freestyle. We are proud to have her as an instructor, especially with her twenty years experience!
Lenore Baskin Lenore has been 'dancing with her dogs' for years. She happened to find us because of her new Dane, Nahli, who was showing extreme fear. Nahli has since blossomed into a wonderful young lady, who is comfortable living in her own skin. Lenore has a beautiful relationship with both of her dogs, and this relationship gets passed onto her students. In addition to being a great dog trainer, Lenore is also a great artist. If you harass her enough, she will show you some of her fabulous dog art.
