Aggression

Seminar update!

Aggression is the number one reason that dogs are given up or surrendered.  There are a variety of different types of aggression that haunt owners.  Guarding objects (possession aggression), barking at other dogs (dog aggression) and dominance issues in the home are the most common.  a

If you experience one of these problems you really should consult with an expert.  However, picking an expert can be a challenge.  Beating aggression out of a dog does not work but seems to be the preferred method used by many dog-trainers.  Please check carefully to see the methods that your professional uses.  The method preferred by The Naughty Dogge is behaviour modification mixed with neuro linguistic programming.  Ask your potential trainer what seminars and conferences they have attended, how long they have been doing this, and how many dogs they have retrained successfully.  Follow this through by checking a reference or two to see that their knowledge is sufficient to actually retrain your type of dog.

Dog to dog aggression can be remedied in a growl class.  This is a safe class environment where your dog gets to have his first positive experiences around other dogs.  This will help YOU to also have positive experiences which will help to reduce your stress and anxiety around walking your dog.   Learning what to do will give you power to enjoy your dog fully again.

If you go to the 'free articles' bone on the home page, there are free articles to help with dominance and dog to dog aggression.

Good luck.
